TOPIC: Enriched Through God’s Riches
KEY VERSE: “That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;” 1 Corinthians 1:5
TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:4-8
Enrichment means to add value to one’s life. Everyone needs that in his or her life – though many people do not end up adding value to their lives. This is because they are not connected to the right source – Jesus Christ. A minister of the gospel spoke to a congregation of African Christians in the town of Mombasa in Kenya (East Africa).
The people sat on benches made of logs of wood inside their church built with bamboo and palm branches. Testifying of their riches in Christ, one after the other, they said of the new life they were living (no more stealing, fighting, telling lies, etc) after embracing Christ as Saviour and Lord. They did not count their riches in terms of their earthly, physical possessions. Their joy was in their freedom from cheating or oppressing other people.
A little boy told a different story. He was always at the bottom of the class before he became a Christian. Since Christ came into his life, he was intellectually awakened and became the best in his class (James 1:5). Nothing and no one enriches like Christ. He is faithful to give as you ask.
PRAYER: O Lord, let the riches of Your grace touch and enrich every area of my life as I surrender my life to You.
