TOPIC: The Dominating Power of Light

SCRIPTURE: And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:5
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When light appears, the disappearance of darkness is instant and automatic.
Our anchor Scripture reveals that light has absolute dominion over darkness. The light shines in darkness, and the darkness comprehends it not (John 1:5).
My father in the Lord, Bishop David Oyedepo, once said, “The dominion of light over darkness is instant, automatic, and unquestionable.” This is true. When light appears, the disappearance of darkness is instant and automatic.
Beloved, I want you to know that light does not negotiate or discuss with darkness. There is no basis for negotiation of any kind between light and darkness.
You see, the absence of light is the only reason for the presence of darkness. When light comes, you don’t beg darkness to leave.
In medicine, there is something called “opportunistic infection.” This happens in conditions like HIV, where the immune system of the body is weakened. The antibodies that fight diseases are compromised, allowing otherwise harmless bacteria to rise up and begin to attack the body. These infections only become significantly harmful because the body’s defences are down.
Similarly, darkness is an opportunistic condition. It cannot exist where light is present. Darkness only thrives in the absence of light.
What is my counsel to you? Introduce the Word of God, which is light, into every dark situation of your life.
Remember this: When light appears, the disappearance of darkness is instant and automatic.
ASSIGNMENT:
1. Go through today’s passage; read it prayerfully and meditatively to understand the dominion of light over darkness.
2. Apply the Word of God to every dark situation in your life.
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to embrace Your light that terminates every darkness and dark situation in my life. Let me walk the path of dominion in life by the light of Your Word, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
