TOPIC: The Influence of Wrong Association

SCRIPTURE: Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 1 Corinthians 15:33

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The wrong association can lead you to eternal damnation in hell.

SOD DEVOTIONAL FOR JULY 29 2023 MESSAGE: 

I met a repented armed robber many years ago. He told me how he became an armed robber through a wrong association.

He said that one day, he asked a friend for money when he was passing through some challenges of life. He said the friend responded by giving him Two hundred thousand Naira to eat and drink.

Afterwards, the same friend told him, “Well, you can join me in what I do. I will not give you money anymore, but I can teach you how to make money.”

After he spent the Two Hundred Thousand Naira that was given to him, he went back to the friend to ask for more, but the friend told him, “I will not give you money anymore except you agree to do what I am doing.”

So, the friend took him to a witch doctor who imparted him with some fetish concoctions. From that moment, the human feeling in him died and he was turned into another man. That was when he realised that he was initiated into armed robbery. Afterwards, he began to rob and kill people effortlessly.

You see, the wrong association can lead you to eternal damnation in hell.

Then at a point in his life, he said a man appeared to him in an open vision and said, “Follow me, let me show you where you belong,” and the man showed him the flames of hell. The man in the revelation told him, “That is where you belong. Now, go and change your life,” and the man disappeared. That was how God saved him.

In our world today, just like the man in this story, there are many people indulging in all manner of vices because of bad associations.

Beloved, I counsel you to break away from the every wrong association so you can escape destruction on earth and the flames of hell in eternity.

Remember this: The wrong association can lead you to eternal damnation in hell.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Disconnect from every wrong association in your life.
2. Make up your mind not to follow anyone to hell fire, if they will not follow you to heaven.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You deliver me from every wrong and evil association. Lead me to relate with the right people that will assist me fulfil Your Purpose on earth and make eternity in Heaven at the end of my journey, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
