TOPIC: Taking Charge Through Praise & Worship
SCRIPTURE: When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. The sea saw it, and fled: Psalm 114:1-3
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When our praise becomes God’s sanctuary, His dominion becomes our heritage.
It is clear through Scriptures that praise and worship are tools of dominion. They are tools that make the child of God to take charge in life. We have a major example in David who was called the sweet psalmist of Israel – 2 Samuel 23:1. David was an addicted praiser and worshipper of God.
Hear what he said in Psalm 119:164: Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments. That was the identity of David.
Now, what was the outcome of David? He took charge in front of the lion, the bear and Goliath. He overpowered and eliminated all of them. History recorded that David fought about 66 battles and lost none. He was in charge.
Let us look at four things that show us that those who praise God are in charge:
1. When our praise becomes God’s sanctuary, His dominion becomes our heritage.
Those who carry the climate of praise always carry the mantle of dominion. Show me a man who carries the climate of praise, and I will show you the man who carries the mantle of dominion.
2. His Presence in our praise creates a highway in our Red Sea.
Psalm 114:3 confirms this: The sea saw it and fled: Jordan was driven back. The sea saw God inside the praises of His people, the Israelites and the sea fled. His Presence in our praise creates a highway in our Red Sea. That is, obstructions are non-existent before those who carry God’s Presence in praise.
Those who understand and practice the praise of God never struggle for passage or access in life. His Presence in our praise both dismantles and dissolves the mountains of life. No mountains can stand in the way of a genuine praiser and worshipper.
God’s Presence established by our praise dethrones contending altars and powers. His Presence established by our praise carries the power to dethrone all contending altars and powers.
How do we praise to take charge?
1. Worship and praise God with undistracted focus.
2. Worship and praise God in faith. Isaiah 45:19
3. Worship and praise God with covenant consciousness. Psalm 47:7.
4. Worship and praise God in the beauty of holiness – (Psalm 29:2).
Beloved, endeavour to live a life of consistent praise and worship to God.
REMEMBER THIS: When our praise becomes God’s sanctuary, His dominion becomes our heritage.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the power of praise and worship. Help me to take charge of every circumstance of life through the instrumentality of heart-felt adoration, praise and worship, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Engage in consistent, heartfelt praise and worship to God, regardless of your circumstances.
2. Use praise as a weapon—intentionally worship God in challenging situations to shift the atmosphere and enforce victory.
