TOPIC: Pathway To Divine Direction
SCRIPTURE: I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Arrogance is the twin of ignorance. Meekness is openness to hear and to learn.
Divine direction is a critical necessity to life and destiny fulfilment. Divine direction is one of the greatest assets of life.
The absence of direction is the abundance of detention. Lives are held down to a spot where direction is lacking. Without direction, people go through life without fulfilling purpose, and life becomes a daily struggle with hopelessness and frustration.
In our anchor Scripture, God has already given us a promise: “I will instruct thee… I will guide thee.” But there is an attitude that guarantees that direction.
For example, in the city of Abuja, there are many radio stations, but you cannot hear the broadcast of any of them until you tuned to the right frequency; that is how it is in the spirit.
We shall be looking at some of the attitudes that qualify a person for divine direction.
1. The attitude of meekness and the decision to hear.
Psalm 25:9 says, The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. Divine guidance is at the mercy of meekness. The meeker you are, the more divinely guided you become.
Arrogance is the twin of ignorance. Meekness is openness to hear and to learn.
2. The climate of joy and praise and total submission to godly instruction.
In 2 Kings 3:15, Prophet Elisha said, But now bring me a minstrel. And what happened? …And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.
There is a climate of joy and praise that makes the voice of God clear. That is why Isaiah 30:30 says, The Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard….
3. Watchfulness in the night and sensitivity to the ways God speaks.
The night season is a season of spiritual transmission. No wonder, Daniel 2:19 says, Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
There are times you must stay up in the night for the sole purpose of hearing from God on the next step to take. Job must have imbibed the practice of tarrying all night for divine revelation and direction. That is why Job 33:15 says, In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed.
Beloved, Divine direction is not scarce; right alignment is what is required. When the right attitude and climate are in place, hearing God becomes natural.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Cultivate the habit of consistent fellowship with God.
2. Commit to immediate, total and unconditional obedience.
PRAYER: Father, I receive grace to walk in Your perfect will. Order my steps and align my heart with Your purpose. Silence every voice of confusion and sharpen my spirit to hear You clearly. Lord, lead me by Your Spirit and cause me to respond with swift obedience, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
