THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you look at determines what you look like.
In our study yesterday, we examined the topic, ZOE—THE LIFE OF GOD. It was established that the Zoe Life is a life that has the Image of God stamped on it. It was also confirmed that the Zoe life is a life that effortlessly gravitates toward God.
In today’s study, we shall explore the keys to living the Zoe or divine life.
Beloved, if you want to flow in the Zoe or divine life, here are the keys:
- Be born again(John 3:6).
- Live in God’s presence. “We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory” (2Corinthians 3:18).
What you look at determines what you look like. Look at God, and you will look like Him. Spend time with God in communion, in intimacy, in worship, in praise, in prayer, in the Study of His Word, etc. You look at God until you begin to look like Him.
- Living in the Word. John 6:63 says,…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. The word of God carries and transmits the Life of God.
- Walk in love (1John 4:8).
God is love. Don’t be where they are assassinating the character of anyone.
No one becomes big by tearing down other people. You don’t become big by making others appear small or look insignificant. Avoid bitterness, unforgiveness, strife and competitive jealousy. These are killers of the Zoe life.
Beloved, whatever you want God to do for you, wish it for other people.
I pray for those ahead of me in ministry that where they are becomes their starting point. I pray that none of them will exit this life until everything written concerning them is accomplished. That is how to live.
You see, life is a seed. Begin to sow what you expect to reap. If you don’t want to be wasted on earth, ensure you sow the seed of goodwill towards others.
God told Abraham in Genesis 12:3, And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee.
Beloved, cleanse your heart of grudge, and you will be shocked at what God will do in your life. There are people you might need to reconcile with today. If you want to function in the reality of the Zoe life, let your character be Christ-like.
REMEMBER THIS: What you look at determines what you look like

- Make a deliberate effort to study the Bible daily.
- Ensure you walk and live in love.
- Avoid bitterness and competitive jealousy.
PRAYER: Father, baptize me with a fresh zeal for intimacy with You. Help me to walk and live in love, so I can look like You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
