OPENING PRAYER: Help me dear Lord to meet with you as I meditate on your word in Jesus name
SCRIPTURE: James 3:13-18
QUESTION FOR REFLECTION
• Q 7: What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?
What constitutes true wisdom according to vs.13,17-18 (compare Romans 12:9-12). True wisdom and understanding show in life through good conduct. True wisdom is also evident by its meek character. Those who do their good works in a way designed to bring attention to themselves show they lack true wisdom. How can we embrace true wisdom? Meditate on v.16. Envy and selfish ambition, disorder and every evil practice are the opposite of the meekness of wisdom mentioned earlier in v.13. Do you sense disorderliness, quarrelling and variance in your community, church, or home? What can you do to sort things out?
Read v.17 again and note what constitutes the wisdom that comes from God. Is this true of you and other believers around you? This kind of wisdom can only be found in Christ, who Himself is Wisdom (see 1 Corinthians 1:30). We are not short of earthly wisdom in the world. But what is the result of this earthly wisdom: injustice, selfishness, wars, hatred, jealousy, divisions, and strife. On the contrary, those who have a true relationship with their God have been given heavenly wisdom which is characterized by purity, mercy, humility, sincerity, and impartiality.

CLOSING PRAYER
Ask God for true wisdom so you can make a difference in your community.
PRAYER OF THE WEEK
â–º Pray for godly wisdom in all you do daily.
â–º Pray against acting unwisely, acting without first clearing from God.
â–º Believe God for the humility to retrace from actions that God has not approved.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Joshua 1:8
