Scripture Union Daily Guide 5 July 2023 Outline:
We cannot do God’s work well without the help of His Spirit. Identify the work and provisions for the work that God gave Moses and the people of Israel in vs.1-11.
God assigned the work of building the Tabernacle, the Ark, and accessories. He raised needed assistants for Moses and filled them with His Spirit of wisdom and excellence for the work. Carefully list the special gifts and abilities God gave to Bezalel (vs.3-5). Which ones can you identify as spiritual gifts, mental gifts, and natural skill gifts? All these are equipping gifts from the Lord. He equips us to accomplish whatever work He assigns us.
Also, in vs.13-17, God commanded the people of Israel to observe the Sabbath of rest on the seventh day, just as God did after creation. The reasons for observing the seventh day of Sabbath are still valid for Christians: to rest and be refreshed, a holy day to the Lord, etc. (vs.14-17). As Christians, all the days of the week should be kept holy to the Lord. Additionally, the church sets aside Sunday (the day Jesus rose from the dead) as special worship day (Acts 20:7).
