Scripture Union Daily Guide 19 July 2023 Outline:
The constituent parts and furnishings for the tabernacle had been completely done, and only needed to be put together. The priests’ garments too had been completed. So, Moses waited for the next instruction from God. Quite often we are in a hurry. We will always be happier and will experience the blessing of God if we wait for His timing in our lives, especially as leaders. A wise leader waits for orders from God.
God told Moses what to do, how to do it and when. First, he was to set up the tabernacle and put in the special pieces of furniture starting with the Ark, in their proper places (vs.1-7). Then he was to set up the courtyard (v.8). Anointing (consecrating) everything in the tabernacle was to follow (vs.9-10). The priests, Aaron and his sons, were then to be cleansed, consecrated and anointed for investiture and resuming their assignment (vs.12-15).
Moses’ example of complete obedience to God (v.16) is worthy of emulation. The Christian faith thrives on revelation. Those who pay the price of waiting receive inspiration for divine direction.
Practice/Word Application
So what? Moses did everything as the Lord commanded (v.16). Are you challenged by his obedience to God?
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
Closing Prayer
Help me, O Lord, to always wait, diligently obey you, and eagerly learn more of your ways.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Deuteronomy 7:15
