SU DAILY GUIDE FOR TODAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 2023 MESSAGE:

Paul has been treating various doctrines, addressing problems and questions that arose from the Corinthian Church. In this last chapter, however, he takes time to handle personal issues with the Church. First, he addresses the issue of fundraising for the Church in Jerusalem. We are to give money to support Gospel work and all those who are in need, “especially to those who are of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10). We are to give in proportion to how much income we earn.

Giving to support the work of the Lord is void of compulsion; it is to be given willingly and cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7). The principles of good stewardship must be followed in the process of collection of money and its application to the purpose for which it is raised (vs.1-4).

Next, Paul shared his travel plan and that of his team members (vs.5-11). Why do you think he shared these plans with the Corinthians? No one can do the work of God alone. Those who are at home should give respect and prayer and financial support to those who are always on the mission field to spread the Good News. What can we learn about the instructions Paul gave in vs.12-18 and what practical cautions do we see in vs.13-14?
