OPENING PRAYER: Make my life oh Lord a reflection of you as I study your word.
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Colossians 2:1 – 15

MESSAGE: Paul expresses his pastoral concern for the believers in Colosse. False doctrines have always been a threat to the faith of the Church and so Paul did not hesitate to remind the believers in Laodicea of the unchanging foundation of the Christian faith – Christ! He states clearly that all the mysteries that they need to know is nowhere or in no one else but in Christ. Therefore, the false teachers that have infiltrated their midst with false spiritual language are only deceivers. But having become Christians, it is important to grow in the knowledge of Christ. Then they (and we) will not be deceived by philosophical concepts.
In vs 11–15, we are reminded of what God has done for us as believers today. Can you identify a few? Through Christ our sins were buried at baptism and through Him we have been raised to life in God.
Practice/Word Application
And so? We should share a burden for the body of Christ far and near, in prayer and discipleship. Paul had zero tolerance for the empty philosophies and false messages that mislead people. Identify some of these empty philosophies today – and ponder on the truths of God’s word. We must not tolerate false doctrine in our hearts.

Closing Prayer
Thank you, Lord, that you are the way, the truth and life. Help me to grow in grace and in the knowledge of you daily.
Prayer for the week
► Thank God for His ever present help in the church of God and in our families.
► Thank Him for the strength He gave to His children despite all the trials and temptations.
► Pray for Grace to be more watchful and to continue to submit to God’s will in all things.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Deuteronomy 7:8 ‐ 9

►The power of God that has been sustaining them since they retired from the Council.
PRAY FOR:
►For renewed health and vigour for them
►That they will continue to be fruitful and flourishing
►That they will live to ripe old age, continuing to be blessings to generations.
