OPENING PRAYER: Grant me depth of insight, revelation and knowledge as I meditate on this passage, O Lord.
SCRIPTURE: 2 Chronicles 6:1‐11
Scripture Union Daily Guide 6 October 2022 Message
Solomon started the dedication of the magnificent Temple by praising the Lord, the God of Israel. Notice what he says about God’s abode in v.1. God’s concern for many years was to build a relationship with His people, Israel. He did this as He accompanied them in the pillar of cloud and fire in the desert (cf. 5:13c‐14).
He was satisfied with the Tent of meeting carried from place to place. God accepts our beautiful places of worship but desires more than these, that we make our hearts the place of His habitation. Our bodies are His Temple. “You (David) are not the one to build the temple”, (v.9).
It is not always true that the person who conceives a vision must be the person to carry it out. Someone may initiate a plan, but God may desire another person to execute it. (1 Corinthians 3:5‐8). It pays to listen to God, submit to Him and execute only His plan for us. Notice the repeated confession of Solomon in vs.4 and 10. How does this encourage us? Read 1 Kings 8:56.

• Lord, open my heart to whole‐heartedly worship you. Help me to be a careful listener and submissively follow your every leading in my life.

☀ The promise of God in our lives that is yea and amen.
☀ The Power and Spirit of God that works in our life to make us remain holy and undefiled in this corrupt world.
PRAY FOR:
☛ Deliberate following the path of peace daily by depending on the leading of the Holy Spirit.
☛ The purposes and grace of God to be realized in our life daily.
☛ Grace to search our heart daily, and allow God do the same to ensure there is no offence in them.
PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ Every plan of the devil to make us defiled through anger, bitterness, unforgiveness or whatever strategy he may bring.
⚠ Having different mindset from brethren in our relationship with one another.
