Scripture Reading
Hebrews 10:19-25
19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness[a] to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Questions for Meditation
► Q3: Is there any command for me to obey?
► Q7: What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?
Scripture Union Daily Guide – 5 November 2025 OUTLINE
Compare Hebrews 10:19-20 with Matthew 27:51. The writer used the physical temple to make a spiritual application. The Holy of Holies was inaccessible to all except for the high priest who would go in once a year, make sacrifices, and sprinkle the blood of the animal as a symbolic cleansing for Israel (Hebrews 10:19-23). A curtain separated that area from everything and everyone else. Jesus as both High Priest and sacrifice gave us access to God. Because our hearts are sprinkled with His blood, we (the redeemed) now have bold access into His presence and to relate with one another.
What is expected of us as members of the family of God (Hebrews 10:24-25)? “We are better together,” is a dominant theme throughout the Bible because we are united into a community with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Family sticks together. And there is no greater family than the family of God. Commitment and seeking the good of the other are critical in any relationship. No relationship will go very far or deep without commitment. The depth of our commitment is a measure of the depth of our love. Note some of the benefits of fellowship with believers (Hebrews 10:25; Acts 2:41-47; Acts 4:32-37; 1 John 1:7).
And So
Make a fresh decision to be committed to fellowshipping with other believers in your faith community.
