• Is there any prayer for me to remember?
Scripture Union Daily Guide 5 April 2022 MESSAGE
This Psalm is a prayer for the king as he prepared to go to battle. Notice the requests made on his behalf in vs.1‐5. Does this reflect the kind of prayer you make for your national leaders? V.4 reminds us that the Lord sees the desires of our hearts and answers us accordingly. He is the only one who can make our plans succeed (Proverbs 16:3,9).
And, in anticipation of the answer to their prayers, the singers/intercessors planned how to celebrate the expected victory (v.5). The king went to the battle in full assurance that the Lord had won the battle for him. Is this how you approach prayer? The Psalm ended with a challenge that we should never trust in our own might, but always in the strength of the Lord (Zechariah 4:6).
He never loses any battle. Is your heart troubled this day? There is hope in the Lord. Learn to trust him and experience His salvation.
Practice/Word Application
Thought: He cannot fail, for He is God. He cannot fail, He pledged His word. He cannot fail, He’ll see you through. He cannot fail, He’ll answer you.
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
