Scripture Union Daily Guide 30th January 2021 Message:
People sometimes qualify a statement of their intention by adding the expression, D.V., an abbreviation of the Latin, Deo volente, which means, “God willing.” The man suffering from the dreaded skin disease of leprosy in our story knows that God is able to do anything. However, there are some things He chooses not to do. This is the basis of his statement in v.2. (Compare this with v.6 from our reading yesterday in Psalm 135).
The centurion shows similar faith in Jesus, (vs.8-9); and similarly, Jesus Christ rewarded his faith. God is more willing to answer our prayers than we are willing to pray! However, we have to ask in accord with his will (1 John 5: 14 – 15). In His wisdom, the answer may sometimes be delayed, or the answer may be, No! The only reason for this is that our loving heavenly Father knows what is best for us. We should therefore learn to call on Him in faith and give thanks to Him whatever His answer may be.

Pray against the falling standard of education, poor work ethics and lack of dedication among teachers and students. Pray for the Christian teachers that they will exhibit Christian lifestyles. Pray for Calvary Ministry (CAPRO).
