This passage presents the beginning of marriage. Let us take note of the following: 1. It is God who instituted marriage (v.18). God in His wisdom saw that it was not good that the man should be alone and went ahead to create a fitting helper for him. 2.
The man was asleep when God was preparing his mate (vs.21‐22). God performed a surgical operation on the man and removed a rib from his side to form the woman. Thus, marriage is between a man and a woman. Nothing else. See Matthew 19:4. 3. The man was satisfied and very happy with God’s gift to him (v.23).
God Himself brought the bride to the man. In the light of the points mentioned above, how must marriage be viewed? Who wrote v.24? Now read Ephesians 5:22‐33 and see the Christian perspective of marriage. Every Christian marriage is supposed to give God full glory for this beautiful arrangement.
It is worthy of note that Adam was given the right to name all the birds and all the animals (vs.19‐20). He even named the lady brought to him (v.23)! What can we learn from this fact?

› Continuous training in Nigeria churches and in SU about discipline, and stability of life and faith.
› Grace for SU’s continuous insistence on the promotion of appropriate and undistracted daily reading of God’s word in the family.
› Proper adoring with modesty and discretion in fashion among our children and youths.
PRAY AGAINST:
∷ All forms uncleanliness and impurities that we are currently witnessing in our fellowship.
∷ Shabby dressing and unholy acts that will desecrate our fellowship.
