Opening Prayer

Scripture Reading
Luke 22:14-23
14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
Questions for Meditation
►Q2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Scripture Union Daily Guide 28 March 2026 | OUTLINE
On the night before Jesus was crucified, He connected with His disciples in a very unique way, through the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, which formed the basis for what the Church calls Holy Communion today. What do you find unique about what He told them in Luke 22:17? Communion is a moment to share, with everyone being a part. He said, “With fervent desire, I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer” (Luke 22:15, NKJV). He had longed to connect with them in this way and encouraged them to share the meal with one another. The celebration of the Lord’s Supper connects us with one another and renews our covenant with the Lord.
Yesterday, we read about the thorough preparation towards the Lord’s Supper. This preparation goes beyond preparing the room and the elements; it includes preparing our hearts (1 Corinthians 1:27-29). The time of celebrating the Lord’s Supper should be a moment of reflection whereby we renew our hearts and relationships. What fills your heart when you approach the Communion Table?
