God’s love as demonstrated to Israel is what we will be celebrating in this season. Israel’s sin and rebellion incurred God’s wrath. Yet in His forgiving love, He only desired the true repentance which will save them from pending destruction (Hosea 14:1-3). He promised that if only they repented, He was going to bless them more than they expected when they abandoned Him.
God told them how to ask for His forgiveness and they promised not to worship idols nor depend on foreign nations for help but will trust in God and His mercy. Who is wise? Who is discerning (Hosea 14:9)? The prophet concludes this book with these rhetorical questions and provides the answers. It is he who realises and understands that the ways of the Lord are right and walks in them. On the contrary, the foolish and rebellious stumbles in them. Each reader, you and I, has been offered the alternatives of walking or stumbling, and obedience or rebellion.
And So
Think of John 3:16 which confirms the reason for the season.

* The successes of all the programs embarked upon by the department • Protection and deliverance of all field missionaries
PRAY FOR:
• God’s protection, provisions and grace for more exploits in the mission fields • Growth and sustenance of the indigenous converts, that they will begin to take charge of Ministry responsibilities in their areas • God to raise more labourers in the mission fields • Missions and Bible Use Board, under the chairmanship of Brother Ndubuisi Ucheya, that God will give wisdom and revelation in giving leadership to fulfil the mandate of the Union in the department
