Scripture Reading
Hebrews 11:20-31
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the [a]passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the [b]reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures [c]in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. 31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who [d]did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.

Scripture Union Daily Guide 21 November 2025 | Outline
To keep defeating opponents in life situations, one must be equipped. One armoury that every believer must be equipped with is the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16). Prayer of faith is a necessary weapon in defeating the enemy. Isaac and Jacob spoke into the future of their posterity through faith (Hebrews 11:20-21). When our eyes are opened to the future, prophetic words follow by faith. Life exodus from personal and national pains, poverty, and economic situations, etc. can be achieved by faith, as exemplified by Joseph (Hebrews 11:22).
Read Hebrews 11:23, and then explain the role of parenting in defeating the foes by faith. When a seemingly rejected child is trained, the product is huge (Hebrews 11:24-29). Their choices will be awesome before God and men (Hebrews 11:24). Our children are to be raised for the common good of society. Conquering faith (Hebrews 11:30-31) do the impossible through children who have grown, even if their beginning was like Rahab. Rahab encountered God through men who knew God. Preach to that Rahab around you and defeat Satan in their life.
