Scripture Union Daily Guide 20th September 2022 Devotional Message for Tuesday– God’s Judgement

Scripture Union Daily Guide 20th September 2022 Devotional for Tuesday

TOPIC: God’s Judgement

OPENING PRAYER: Oh Lord, fill me with the power of the Holy Ghost as I study your word.

SCRIPTURE: Revelations 16:1‐21

Scripture Union Daily Guide 20th September 2022 MESSAGE

God has waited for so long and given His people several opportunities to repent but that has not taken place. Finally, His judgment is released through the seven angels. The sins and the punishments are similar. Notice the similarities between these bowls of judgment and the plagues in Egypt (Exodus 7‐12). The Lord is judging the gods and idols that people have worshipped over the years. The judgment affects elements in creation because of human wickedness.

These judgments are intended to bring people to repentance to avoid eternal destruction. On the contrary, notice the reaction of the inhabitants in vs.9&11. This is unfortunate. Failure to repent ends in eternal damnation. We need to pray for hearts that listen and act when God speaks. In vs.13‐16 we see the trinity of evil: Satan (the dragon) and his agents, the beast and the false prophet.
