Scripture: Question(s) for Reflection
Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any command for me to obey? • What is God revealing to me in this passage?
Note the patience of the man who sowed the good seed, the Son of Man, despite the irritating work of the enemy (vs.28–29). What then do you learn concerning how to respond as a Christian when faced by evil forces in your daily life (vs. 28-29)? We should be wary of the forces of evil. Can we expect to have a perfect local church or congregation? We note that the owner of the field had planted good seeds, but the enemy schemed an evil plan and planted weeds (vs.27,28).
The parable suggests that weeds will always co-exist with crops and this should serve as a warning to us to be watchful (v.30). The owner stopped the servants from pulling up the weeds for very good reason (see vs.28-29). We should not be quick to judge as we can easily make mistakes. We must be patient until God makes the final distinction between those who are His and those who are not (2 Timothy 2:19). He can turn one who appears like a tare today into good crop tomorrow, a Saul becoming Paul.
Question: Mention some of the things that hinder us from flourishing spiritually as believers and what remedies one can take to overcome them.
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
Closing Prayer
• Pray that you will be among the righteous who will shine like stars in the kingdom of the Father. • Pray against errors, false doctrines and unhealthy competition among Church leaders.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with
• Dan. 5-7; Rev. 7
