Topic: Remember To Thank The Lord Who Makes You Succeed

Opening Prayer: Grant me grace dear Lord to apply what you will teach me today as I read this passage.

      Scripture: Psalm 21:1‐13

      Question(s) for Reflection
      • What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
      • Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
      • What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?

Scripture Union Daily Guide 20 April 2022 MESSAGE

When things turn out right for us, we often become so happy that we forget to reflect on how we got there and thank the Lord who got us there. Not so with David. Reread vs.1‐7 and note at least five things that David thanks God for in his life. Think for a moment! What do you have to thank the Lord for in your life today?

Tell it to your family and friends. Sometimes it is easy to be successful in what we do but staying on the top may be quite a difficult task. We have so many fears that come our way about the good things we have or positions we occupy. David knew that when the Lord makes you successful, he establishes you. What can your enemies do? The Lord will fight for you and deal decisively with your adversaries (vs.8‐10).

Reflect for a moment and see the battles the Lord has fought for you and how He successfully delivered you in all those battles. In the light of such great deliverance, how should you face the future? What position should God take in your life? If your enemies temporarily succeed how should you handle that (vs.11‐12)?

      Practice/Word Application
So what? Kneel and praise the Lord for what He has done to you.

      • Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

      Closing Prayer
      • Kneel and praise the Lord for what He has done to you especially for the gift of life.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with John 14:27

      PRAYER FOCUS

      SUFFICIENT GRACE
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in the time of need. Hebrews 4:16

      THANK GOD FOR:
› The grace that has ensured our salvation.
› The strength of God that is clearly seen when we are weak.

      PRAY FOR:
› Adequate strengthening with the power of God in the inner man in order to face the daily challenge of life.
› The true knowledge of the power of God, so we can remain calm in the face of all storms.
› Grace to endure, knowing that our Lord has the ability to restore, strengthen and establish us.

      PRAY AGAINST:
∷ Feeling of self‐sufficient instead of depending on God’s grace.
∷ Our using the grace of God for lasciviousness.
