      TOPIC: Miscarriage of Justice

OPENING PRAYER: Dear Lord, I pray that you sanctify my spirit, soul and body as I read your word in Jesus name.

      SCRIPTURE: Acts 24:22‐27

SCRIPTURE UNION DAILY GUIDE 14TH NOVEMBER 2022 OUTLINE

Does it surprise you that the Bible says that Felix, the Roman Governor, had “a rather accurate knowledge of the Way”? See v.24a for a possible source of that knowledge. Unfortunately, his knowledge did not influence his character. He seems to represent many African leaders not only outside of our churches and Christian ministries but also within some of them.

Note the ways in which the pretence of his spirituality showed up – he showed some concern for the welfare of the prisoner (v. 23). He brought his Jewish wife to join in the conversation but could not entertain the hard truths relating to character transformation (vs.24‐25).

His frequent audience with Paul was not for his spiritual growth but a cover‐up of his desire for a bribe (v.26); he abandoned Paul in prison to satisfy the Jewish leaders (v. 27b) and possibly because Paul did not succumb to bribing his way out of prison. Note: Our character and lifestyle will always confirm or betray our testimony as followers of Jesus Christ.

      Question(s) for Reflection
      • Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

      Practice/Word Application
So what? If you are a worker, be fair to all and pursue integrity at all times.

      • Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

      Closing Prayer
      • Pray for the many believers who are going through physical suffering innocently at the hands of corrupt leaders

Offer a prayer of faith in line with Psalms 68:35

      One Year Bible Reading Plan
      Luke 11, 12; Romans 7.

      PRAYER FOCUS

      CARING FATHER!!!!
But He said unto me, “my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness…
      2 Corinthians 12:9

      THANK GOD FOR:
☀ The grace of God that has loved us and taught us to love one another.
☀ The goodness and favour of God towards all who come to Him.

      PRAY FOR:
☛ Grace to continue to be devoted to God and to one another as we look out for each other.
☛ The need to express love more in this end time, where people are becoming more self-centred.
☛ More lasting relationships in Christian communities and Ministries, as people continue as godly families.

      PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ The increasing spread of negativism and unkindness due to increased fear of insecurity
⚠ People becoming individualistic and failing to realize that love is the sign that Jesus said is the mark of discipleship.
