TOPIC: Humility, Obedience and Miracles

OPENING PRAYER: Lord, I pray that you lead me into your truth as I meditate on your word in Jesus name.

SCRIPTURE: 2 King 5:1-14

MESSAGE: Although Naaman was a valiant soldier, note the one who gave him the victories by which he became famous (v.1). Our God is sovereign! He is in control of the affairs of the nations, whether they recognise it or not (Ezekiel 30:24).

Naaman was like a billionaire with an incurable skin disease. He was a top commander. The king respected him. He had influence and wealth. He had a retinue of servants at his beck and call. He had everything that could make a man proud, but leprosy changed everything for him. What an embarrassment and disgrace! What is that ‘BUT’ in your life that is rubbishing your good reputation (v.1)? When you are not accorded the respect you deserve, how do you feel (v.11)? But, he got his healing (v.14). What can we learn from Naaman about receiving God’s blessings?

Many times, we miss God’s blessing for our lives because of pride, unbelief, and disobedience (see 1 Peter 5:5b). When Naaman found out that no one could help him except the God of Israel, he wasted no time to seek for help (vs.4-6). He believed, obeyed, and humbled himself (vs.9-14).
How does the life of the young slave girl in vs.2-3 challenge us to be witnesses for Christ?

CLOSING PRAYER
Lord Jesus, deliver me from every form of pride, disobedience and unbelief that can hinder me from receiving your blessings for my life.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with Ephesians 6:19

THANK GOD FOR:
► The enablement we have received to daily examine the scriptures.
► His presence in our meetings in SU as He guides and directs all the teachings done there.

PRAY FOR:
► More of our SU brethren to be open to God’s word as we daily study the scriptures.
► Grace to keep holding fast and teaching what is good and right.
► Spiritual guidance as we daily study our Bible to ensure we do not get into any error.

PRAY AGAINST:
► Failing to renounce the old disgraceful life patterns thereby not practicing and tampering with God’s word.
► Failing to accept the word of God, hence missing out on the revival of our souls.
