Our call to follow Jesus like that of Levi is a privilege and a command. Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-31. How do you view God’s call to be His disciple – a privilege or a casual appeal? Levi in appreciation of his call celebrated by throwing a party where he invited his friends and colleagues with Jesus as his Guest of Honour. This was his own way of introducing his colleagues to the saviour – an evangelistic dinner. What impression do you think that banquet made on Levi’s friends?
Notice the three groups of disciples mentioned in Luke 5:33. Paul similarly found four groups of disciples in Corinth (1 Corinthians 1:12). Whose disciple are you? Be wary of equating your call to that of your church leaders and persuasions.
Note what Jesus said about fasting (Luke 5:34-35). To be truly effective in our ministry, we should create time for fasting and prayer. Read Luke 5:36-39 again. What happens if we try to fit the new life in Christ into the old mould of legalism? Some of our traditions cannot be mixed with Christianity. Can you think of any?

PRAY FOR:
•The Holy Spirit will breathe upon these programs, that they may fulfil the purpose of God in our lives and ministry.
•All those who will lead any aspect of the program will prepare well, fully depend on the Holy Spirit, and not take anything for granted.
•For grace to remain open to the Holy Spirit at every step, all the way, in the course of executing these programs
