OPENING PRAYER: As I read your word O Lord, grant me an insight and grace to do your will in Jesus name.
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 27:1‐14
Scripture Union Daily Guide 10 August 2022 MESSAGE
Notice the confident expression of the Psalmist. God is to him: light, salvation and the stronghold of his life. Despite the increasing spate of terrorist attacks, kidnappings, hostage taking and armed conflicts around the globe, we should be encouraged to have confidence in God’s ability to protect us (vs.2‐3).
More than all God’s gifts and blessings, we should desire to know God and know him intimately. What example is there for us in v.4? Notice the number of times the word “seek” is used in this verse and v.8.
Does this give any clue into David’s deepest desire? What is the relationship between “seeking” and “waiting” for the Lord? How can you use vs.9‐11 to encourage those who face loneliness and rejection because of choosing to follow Jesus?
The Psalmist speaks out of his personal experience of God’s help in his life. We can be confident that God will set us upon a rock which will not sink under us, but on which we find firm footing for our hopes.

☀ The grace of God He has made available for His children that confirms, strengthens and establishes us no matter what we face.
PRAY FOR:
☛ Steadfastness for brethren undergoing the trials of life.
☛ Grace for brethren who are in pains to be patient and to remain constant in prayer.
☛ Renewed strength to trust in the Lord with all their heart as the love of God and that of the brethren help them to go on.
PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ Depending on themselves and their ability this trying time instead of depending on God.
⚠ Being abandoned by brethren instead of going on to encourage them to build their faith.
