TOPIC: A Day with Joni ~ Our God of Hope
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13
God of hope – that’s a beautiful title, isn’t it? Hope isn’t just something God doles out, but rather it is Who He is. Hope is an inherent element of our God’s essence – one of His attributes!
And when He is your God, you can rest in every perfection of His nature. By calling Him the God of Hope, the Bible makes it clear: God is hope’s source.
Heavenly hope is so much higher than the hope this world expresses. “I hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow” is typical of how people view hope – a wish without any degree of certainty.
Is biblical hope so fickle? Not at all! Hope is certain because it is founded upon our unchanging God and His unfailing promises. You, believer, have hope!
Where is your heart today? What trials and tribulations assail you? Pray this verse! “May the God of hope fill you …” for He is hope’s source. And He will do it.
You are the God of hope – moreover, my God of hope! I so need Your joy and peace today. Will You fill me to overflowing? Will You raise my eyes above the circumstances of this life, this day, to a clearer vision of You and things eternal? You Lord are the source of my hope! Amen.
