TOPIC: Healing Waters Run Deep
Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and water was flowing out from under the threshold of the temple eastward, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing down from under from the right side of the temple, south of the altar… And it was a river that I could not pass over, for the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.
– Ezekiel 47:1, 5b
God gave Ezekiel an incredible picture of the future of the church through a vision of a pure river of life. In the vision a “man,” or Jesus, pressed Ezekiel to go farther into the waters. As he did, they flowed from heaven and first covered his ankles before rising to conceal his knees and loins.
Finally, the river rose to depths so great that it overflowed its banks making it unsurpassable. Everywhere it flowed from the throne of God it gave life and healing to all it touched.
The body of Christ is not getting weaker and weaker. She will continue to increase in power, strength, authority and glory as we move toward the Lord’s return.
God, help me not to settle for the shallow waters of religion.
