TOPIC: There is a Price
BIBLE READING: Numb. 31-33
TEXT: “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” – Daniel 1 :8.
Anything is achievable if there is a man to pay the price. Many people are not conscious of their future, many people have refused to be responsible with their lives, they have not come to the consciousness that to attain greatness and a fulfilled life, there is a price to pay. No greatness is accidental. Men to some reasonable extent may be of help but it is your resolve and determination that takes you all the way. With determination comes discipline.
Not to live a disciplined life is to end up a nobody. Irrespective of how gifted you are, you must live a disciplined life for you to experience the greatness you have dreamt of. Daniel is an example of what determination can help you achieve. A determination to stick with your Christian faith and beliefs, a determination not to be ridicule of what salvation represents, a determination to bring pride to the kingdom of God by giving attention to all God’s commands and doing them.
Also, desisting from whatever He condemns. The man who gives himself to doing all it takes as the Spirit leads to stand out will always be noticed by men. Moses chose to suffer affliction with the people of God rather than enjoy the pleasure of sin for a moment and he stood out.
There is a price to pay today to become the greatness ordained for you.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I receive grace to do the needful.
