Seekers of God

TEXT: “For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments”. Ezra 7 :10.
Rhema for Living 15 February 2022 Devotional MESSAGE
Seekers of God are God-minded and not self-minded. They go all out for the things of God propelled by the love of God. The affairs of the kingdom are their affairs, their Father’s business is their business. They serve God with their all, not leaving out some aspects of them in kingdom service. Whether convenient or not, they are willingly available for the task of the kingdom not waiting to be begged or compelled to do so.
They are never comfortable when things of the kingdom are not in place as they ought to be. They esteem the things of God above all their desires and earthly pleasure. That is why a seeker of God attends service at all times because he seeks God who has something to say whether through a man or an ass.

The amazing thing is that no one seeks God and is not a living testimony of what God can do.
As he genuinely chases after God, gold and the treasures of life chase after him. When Solomon went to Gibeon and offered unto God a thousand burnt offering and God appeared unto him that night in a dream saying, “Ask what I shall give thee’.
As a seeker of God he asked for an understanding heart to judge God’s people so he could discern between good and bad because the energy of the flesh would fail. And the speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked that and God granted his request, also added riches and honour to it.
Everything God said he would give him was in a measure that no king can ever measure with him all his days, neither can anyone before or after him compare with him (1 Kings 3 :1 – 13), and he enjoyed all round peace.
Child of God, set your heart in order to seek God as Ezra in our anchor text.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray now, I set my heart in order to seek you.
