IMMORTALITY NOW: THE LIFE BEYOND DEATH
(You’ve Passed from Death to Life)
To the Bible
2 Timothy 1:10 KJV
“But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”
Lets Talk
The message in our opening verse is very clear: Christ has abolished death and has brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. The Church must come to the knowledge and profundity of this truth. Now that you are born again, you have passed from death to life; you are in the place of immortality, deathlessness: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life” (John 5:24, NKJV).
You have the transcendent life, the overcoming life that makes you superior to Satan, darkness, disease, sickness, failure, defeat, and death. Now, if this is true — and thank God it is — why are there still so many in the Church today struggling with their health and being buffeted by the elements of this world?
The reason is their lack of understanding, consciousness, and knowledge of this truth. God said in Hosea 4:6 (NKJV): “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” It brings to mind the lamentation of the psalmist Asaph in Psalm 82:5–7 (NKJV): “They do not know, nor do they understand; they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are unstable. I said, ‘You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High. But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.’”
How sad! Being born again, you are a god because you are born of God; therefore, you have the God-life. That life is not subject to sickness; it is death-proof and disease-proof. This is the truth, and unless you accept this reality, you will never live it.
This is what Jesus came to accomplish for us, and He fulfilled it. He “finished” the work. On the Cross, before He died, He said, “It is finished.” In other words, mission accomplished: death is abolished; life and immortality are now unveiled! The Bible says: “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God” (Hebrews 10:12, NKJV). Glory to God! He made life and immortality available through the Gospel and sat down at the right hand of God. Now, the Bible says that whosoever believes in Him has everlasting life (John 3:16). Having believed, you have life and immortality. Blessed be God!
