BIBLE VERSE: And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
[a]For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. – Matthew 6:13
(New King James Version)
Prayer of the Day – Inspired by Matthew 6:13
Heavenly Father, I come before You today in need of Your guidance and grace. You are my Rock, my Refuge, and my Deliverer. As I step into this new day, I hold onto the truth of Your Word: “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” I ask You to lead me, Lord — away from what entangles and toward what edifies.
Lord, You know my heart more intimately than I do. You see every hidden place, every unspoken struggle. I ask that You protect me from temptation — the subtle deceptions that try to pull me from Your presence. Give me eyes to see what is harmful and a will that longs to obey You.
I confess, Father, that I am often drawn to things that don’t honor You. Whether it’s pride, fear, comparison, or doubt, these things try to take root in me. But I know You offer something far greater — a life anchored in truth, peace, and purpose. Please deliver me from every evil influence.
Jesus, You conquered temptation in the wilderness, and I believe that by Your Spirit, I can walk in victory too. Help me not to depend on my own strength, but on the power that raised You from the dead. Let Your grace be my daily sustenance.
I lift up to You the areas of my life where I fall short. I lay down my burdens, my fears, and my habits at Your feet. Cleanse me, Lord. Make me whole. Renew a steadfast spirit within me so I can walk in holiness and reflect Your love.
Surround me today with Your protection. Guard my thoughts from lies, my mouth from speaking harm, and my steps from wandering off course. This world is filled with distractions and dangers, but You are my safe place and my compass.
When I feel weak, remind me that You are strong. When I feel tempted to give in or give up, let me remember that You are with me and for me. Let the victory of the cross be my shield, and the hope of Your resurrection fill me with courage.
Grant me discernment, Lord — to know what is right and to choose it with boldness. Let Your Word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Fill me with Your wisdom so I can make choices that honor You.
I pray also for those around me who may be caught in sin, pain, or spiritual blindness. Use me, if You will, to extend Your love and truth to them. May Your freedom and mercy reach those who are lost and longing to be found.
Thank You, Lord, for never abandoning me to my own struggles. You are my Deliverer — always near, always faithful. Today, I trust You afresh. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil. For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
