Topic: Small Pots, Big Results

Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 4: 1-7

1Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest. Read full chapter

Pastor Jerry Eze Streams of Joy Devotional 13th March 2021 Message:

In our Focal Scripture, Elisha told the widow of one of the sons of the prophets to go and borrow vessels. She had only a pot of oil, and Elisha told her to borrow many vessels from her neighbours. Those vessels were eventually filled by the oil from her pot of oil. A pot is ordinarily small when compared to a vessel. So what she had was small, but it filled big vessels. Her small pot of oil made big things to become a reality.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: your small pot of oil will make big things to happen. Your small efforts will cause big results to happen. Your little contacts will cause mega access to become your reality. Your little status will birth unimaginable influence in time to come. What you are currently doing may be small in your eyes, but by the word of the Lord, it will cause big things to happen. Your small pot of oil is a game changer.

That pot of oil did not need to become a big pot before making big things to happen. You may indeed be small, and God says, you are not too small to make big things to happen. You are not too small to make mega impact. You are not too small to turn the tables. You are not too small to hit unbelievable targets. You are not too small to make a huge difference. You are not too small to excel. You are not too small to rise to high places.

When Jehovah is involved, small things are capacitated to make big things happen. When Jehovah is involved, your little is has the capacity to make many things happen. When Jehovah is involved, your small business can become global, your small ideas can take you to your high places, your small vision can lead you into great heights, your small opportunity can make you famous, and any small ‘pot of oil’ can fill many vessels.

Stop looking down on your ‘pot of oil’. If God be for you, it will fill mega vessels.

Declaration: My small ‘pot of oil’ will make big things happen, in Jesus’ name!
