Open Heaven for Teens 27 March 2022 MESSAGE
Many people respect their fathers but disrespect their mothers probably because mothers are always warm and welcoming, easily accessible, unlike fathers who are rarely around. This is a lack of wisdom because mothers labour as much as fathers over their children. Besides, Ephesians 6:2 does not say you should honour only your father, it says honour your father and mother so that your days can be long.
Mothers play a vital role in the lives of their children. For instance, Moses mother, at a time Pharaoh gave an order that every male child born by the Israelites should be killed, set up her son to be raised in the palace. This act set Moses on the path of greatness.
Today, many young people have missed greatness in life because they refused to heed the wise counsel of their mothers. Our memory verse for today refers to anyone who despises his/her mother as a fool.
This is serious! Borrow a leaf from me; I am where I am today because of the prayers of my mother. Whenever I did something that pleased
her, she would say to me, whenever you call on one, many would answer.
Action Point: Based on our memory verse, are you wise or foolish?
