TOPIC:Â Backsliding
MEMORISE: And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
READ: Isaiah 1:4
Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
MESSAGE: Backsliding is the act of going back to the sin that was once repented of. The Bible says that
a backslider is not fit for the kingdom of God, as God does not delight in him/her at all.
The end of a backslider is usually not good because God isn’t involved in any area of his her life. Satan uses different schemes such as bad association, Lukewarmness, prayerlessness, non-meditation on the word of God, unforgiveness, et cetera, to try to distance believers from God in order to make them backslide.
When a believer backslides, the sense of God’s presence leaves him/her and he/she becomes open to the manipulation of the devil. As a child of God, I encourage you to do the things that please your Heavenly Father always and be wary of any form of backsliding.
