Open Heaven For Teens 17th May 2026 MESSAGE
The heart is a very sensitive part of the body. The state and content of a fellow’s heart is dependent on what it is exposed to and will largely determine the quality of his or her decisions. When people expose their hearts to worldly and sinful things, the probability of them engaging in sin will be high. This is because the heart is the centre where the thought of committing sin takes root before it is nurtured and acted upon (Mark 7:21-23).
Today’s memory verse instructs us to keep our hearts with all diligence. This means that you should guard your heart and ensure that it is pure at all times. You must guard your heart against envy, immorality, and other sinful thoughts.
My dear child, the best way to guard your heart is to fill it with the word of God, just as David said in today’s Bible reading. The word of God cleanses the heart; it should be in your heart at all times.
Quiz: According to today’s memory verse, how should one guard his or her heart?
KEY POINT:
Studying the word of God regularly will guard your heart and keep you from committing sin.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:VLUKE 1:1-23, DEUTERONOMY 31-32
HYMNAL: 15 WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
