Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus(2)

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: 1 Cor. 10-12
TEXT: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.- Hebrews 12 :2.
MESSAGE: Jesus was a man of the Word, while on earth. His response of “It is written…” to every temptation of the devil revealed His depth of knowledge and understanding of the Word of God. He exemplified, 2 Timothy 2 :15 – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” For every aspect of the temptation, there was an accurate response from the Word of God.
Seeing He was hungry after the fast, Satan first tempted Him with food saying, ” If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4 :3-4).
The devil came again and again from various angle but there was a word to resist him…” Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4 :7). The strongest form of resistance is via the Word of God.
Child of God, you can see that Jesus was a man of the Word and was full of the Word after his fast. If you can follow in these footsteps of Jesus, you would fulfill destiny gloriously.
PRAYER.
My Father! My Father! As I pray now, increase my passion for the Word in Jesus name.
