Integrity Matters
by Apostle (Prof) Johnson Suleman

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 49-50

TEXT: “The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.” Proverbs 20 :7.

Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral and Godly principles. Integrity matters greatly to God that is why scripture says in proverbs 19 :1; “Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.” As disclosed in our text of emphasis, God’s reward for integrity is Trans-generation. Not only will a believer of integrity be profited but his children after him also.

But it is a pity, that many believers today are on the other side of integrity to the extent that believers today are on the other side of integrity to the extent that believers even of the same house of faith fear to have any business dealing with them because they are unstable in their ways changing with the weather, never keeping to their word.

God of loves integrity, that He boasted again of Job to satan in verse 3 of Job chapter 2 saying, “Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.”

Despite all Job went through, he held on to his integrity. He still worshipped God saying, “Blessed be the name of the LORD. And verse 22 says, “In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” Job 1 :21 – 22; Even his closet companion, his wife could not make him lose his integrity in time of adversity. Despite her pressure, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.” (Job 2 :9), Job did not.

In Job 26 :5; he declared, “God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.” No excuse therefore for losing your integrity. In fact, integrity is known in times of adversity. In every instance, there is the voice of Job’s wife on one hand, and your integrity on the other. The choice you make determines if you bowed to Job’s wife or held on to integrity. Your choice determines who you are and your ultimate end.

“The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.” Proverbs 11 :3.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I make a choice for integrity, help me Lord.
