Remember His Deeds

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 13-14

TEXT: “They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy. How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan.” Psalms 78 :42 – 43.

Omega Fire Devotional 20th July 2021 Message

There is power in remembrance. When you remember God’s deeds in your life, your faith comes alive, you are quickened to hope in His faithfulness for his promises are very sure. The enemy fights the remembrance of wondrous acts of God in a believer’s life because he knows the power therein. That was why the Psalmist declared, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:” And he started mentioning the deeds of God in his life. Psa. 103 :2 – 6.

If you can remember how God provided for you even when it seems all hope was lost; you will trust Him for more provision no matter the circumstance. Do not allow the enemy becloud you with his deceptive lies and make you seek alternative to God.

The children of Israel in our text keep provoking God in their sinful ways because at every challenge before them they remembered not how God delivered them in previous difficult situations.
When you remembered God’s marvelous works, it provokes you to seek the Lord, remain stead fast in Him because He cannot change. He is still the God who can provide one’s desires and can do all things. And there is a great assurance that if He had done it before, He will do it again. Hence scripture commands, “Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Remember his marvelous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth.” Ps 105 :4 – 5.

Never at any point be like the Israelite in our anchor text who at every challenge forgot the previous deeds of God in their midst.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I stir up all that is within me to always remember Your deeds in my life.
