Your Friend, Your End!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Hosea 11-12

TEXT: “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Proverbs 13 :20.

We cannot ever exhaust the teaching of being wise in choosing your friends in life. As I always say, friendship is not by force but by choice. I am aware that there are persons that cling themselves to people never wanting to let them go despite some attempts in disconnecting from them, but if there is definite decision to disconnect them, with the help of the Spirit of God based on your adherence to higher principles that can separates you from them, they will leave you alone.

For instance you have a friend who always comes around and the both of you would chat all day long not engaging any spiritual exercise such as praying or sharing God’s word or listening to Christian messages etc. And he comes around and you told him you want to pray that he should join you and you engaged in prayers for quite a while and at another time, it was to study God’s word of which you gave him another bible to also study, and at the end you share revelations, am certain that with time he will leave you alone because that is not his lifestyle except he wants to change to become a better person.

There are habits that you will keep struggling with when you keep friends with such habits. How can a gossiper want to overcome gossiping when her friends are gossips or how can a smoker stop smoking when those he keeps company with are still smoking? You can never be rated above the friends you keep. That is why this saying, “Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are.” Child of God, who are your friends?

A friend of Gehazi and Achan will end up becoming like them. A friend of Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego, will also become like them. Today, while you still have time, run through your friends and secure your destiny.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, every wrong friend in my life, I cut you off by fire.
