The Lot of the Righteous
Apostle (Prof) Johnson Suleman
BIBLE READING: 1 Chronicles 7-9
TEXT: “For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.” Psalms 125 :3
OFM Rhema For Living 26 April 2023 MESSAGE: The lot of the righteous are their portions of inheritance in Christ; all that belongs to them; their lands, offsprings, businesses, riches, finances, ministries, families, loved ones, health etc. In Psalms 105:11, God said to the Israelites, “Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:” Whatever God has endowed the righteous with are their lot and God is fully committed in maintaining and ensuring their safety and preservation.
It was this understanding that the Psalmist had and declared, “The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.” To maintain something is to keep it in existence or continuance by preserving it, keeping it in a specified state, position etc to keep its originality, providing for the upkeep carrying its expenses.
That is why He says the preceding verse of our anchor text which was the reason for the statement of our anchor text, “As the mountain are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth, even forever.” Ps. 25 :2.. In other words, the LORD is round about His people to stop the rod of the wicked which is not permitted to rest upon the lot of the righteous.
God is committed to maintaining the righteousness of His people, preventing whatever may cause them to fall into iniquity. He will not suffer their feet to be moved or allow them to be tempted above that which they can bear.
Child of God, peradventure you have been ignorant of the promises of God and His commitment to keeping to them and have allowed the rod of the wicked on your lot, it’s time to react and forbid the wicked from that which concerns you.
Your lot is a no-go-area for the wicked.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I cast out every rod of the wicked resting upon my lot.
