The Joy of the Lord
Apostle (Prof) Johnson Suleman
BIBLE READING:Â 1 Chronicles 1-3
TEXT: “…for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Neh. 8 :10
OFM Rhema For Living 24 April 2023 Message: The Joy of the Lord in your heart is where your strength is, and nothing should get that joy out of you, “Strength” refers to force, energy, power and capacity, so this means that the force that will haul back the adversary is the joy in your heart.
When king Jehoshaphat was faced with an overwhelming army, the Lord asked him to put singers ahead of the army to praise His name.
The Lord knew that what was needed was that atmosphere of joy, and the bible says at the moment they began to sing and to praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to begin to fight themselves, and they destroyed one another (2 Chron. 20 :22).
Every time joy is expressed, victory is assured and the enemy is thrown into confusion.
This is why in the midst of so much adversity, the Apostle Paul still counseled us to “Rejoice” (Phil. 4 :4). The enemy’s strategy is to first knock your joy out of you, because he knows if he could, then he’s got advantage. That is why when the devil throws his darts at you don’t say, “I don’t know why all these things are happening to me?
Rather, shout out, “I know who I am!” Throw your best shot at the devil; you can be sure he will flee in terror as the scripture has said (James 4 :7). Keep on rejoicing and laugh at the enemy, there will be confusion in the camp of the enemy. So do all you can to keep your joy intact. You can keep basking in joy in the presence of the Lord (Ps. 16 :11)
Fellowshipping regularly with Him in worship and prayers and also in the study of the word.
Jeremiah declared, “Thy words were found, and I did eat them: and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart…”
I pray for you, your joy shall overflow.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, help me Lord to keep my joy intact
