Lay It Aside (2)

BIBLE READING:Â 2 Chronicles 22-24
TEXT: “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12 :1.
OFM Rhema For Living 11th May 2023 MESSAGE: Every act of sin will eventually lead to destruction and reproach no matter how it is interpreted or seen initially. It is only righteousness that leads to glory. Though initially there are sacrifices, discomfort or temporary afflictions that you might go through in living upright but when the lifting and rewards show forth in your life, it cannot in anyway be compared with the price you paid because it is far glorious beyond what the human mind can comprehend.
So you must be willing to stand for righteousness no matter what you temporary go through.
No one in scripture who took a stand for righteousness that was not promoted. Moses shunned the comfort of Pharaoh’s palace and choose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.
He went after his destiny (Heb. 11 :25) and stood out as God’s mighty instrument. Joseph refused to lie with Potiphar’s wife and landed in prison but his act of righteousness which was his lifestyle spoke for him and he was elevated to the position of the Prime minister in a strange land.
Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank, and he and his three friends who took that righteous stand were exalted in the land.
Child of God, it is truly time to deal with that sin by laying it aside..
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I receive fresh grace to lay aside that sin that has weighed me down by fire.
