Monday, July 20, 2026: Strength for a New Week: Daily Devotional for Women
Today’s Bible Verse
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
Mondays have a unique way of highlighting our limitations.
As the alarm goes off and the reality of a new week sets in, it’s easy to feel a sudden wave of overwhelm. We look at the demands of the days ahead—demands from work, family, and daily responsibilities—and we wonder if we actually have enough physical or emotional energy to get through it all.
But God never asked you to face Monday in your own strength.
Isaiah 40:31 contains a beautiful promise of exchange. When we place our hope and trust in the Lord, we exchange our limited, fragile human strength for His limitless divine power. We don’t just drag ourselves through the week; we are given the ability to “soar.”
If you are starting this Monday feeling faint, take heart. God’s grace is fully sufficient for today. You don’t need enough strength for the whole week right now—you only need enough for the next five minutes. Trust that He will meet you in every single moment.
Today’s Reflection
Instead of looking at the entire week’s to-do list, what is one task today where you can actively ask God for His strength?
A Monday Prayer for Strength
A Monday Morning Prayer for Strength and Hope
Heavenly Father,
As I step into this new week, I confess that I feel a little overwhelmed by what lies ahead. My own strength feels small today, but I know Your power is made perfect in my weakness. I place my hope entirely in You.
Renew my energy, Lord. Give me focus at work, patience with my family, and a heart that remains anchored in Your peace. Help me to take this week one step at a time, trusting that You are walking right beside me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
