MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 23 September 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Spiritual Gifts (II)

TOPIC: Spiritual Gifts (II)

MEMORY VERSE
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. – 1 Peter 4:10

FIRE SCRIPTURE:  Ephesians 4:2-13

TODAY”S MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we learned about three of the seven spiritual gifts God has for all genuine believers. We also highlighted the qualification anyone who desires to have the spiritual gifts should possess and encouraged you to get those qualifications if you do not have them already. Today, we shall learn about the remaining four of the seven spiritual gifts.

Another spiritual gift that God has for the genuine believer is spiritual rest. The world is in a state of turmoil. Peace and rest are alien to many lives, families, communities and nations. The devil is attacking the world with violence, wasting and destruction. The spiritual gift of rest is, therefore, quite precious in this end time. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” The One who made the promise is the Way, the Truth and the Life; He is also the Amen.

The Holy Spirit is another important spiritual gift God has for believers. Without the Holy Spirit the Christian walk will be a failure. In Luke 11:13, the Bible says, “If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” To underscore the indispensability of the Holy Spirit in believers’ lives, Jesus said that anyone who does not have the Holy Spirit is none of His.

God also has the spiritual gift of eternal life for all genuine believers. Before the fall of man through the disobedience of Adam and Eve, God’s original plan was that man would leave eternally and not taste death. Man was designed to be intimate with God and live forever in His presence.

In John 10:28, Jesus said, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” Lastly, God has the gift of spiritual crown for genuine believers. I pray that you will not miss this special gift, in the name of Jesus. In Revelation 2:10, the Bible affirms, “Fear none of those things which thou shall suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and l will give thee a crown of life.”

Beloved, these spiritual gifts are worth more than all the gold, silver and precious stones in the world. They are so valuable that sinful pleasures, lust, the love of the world and all that satan falsely offers you cannot truly replace them. You should forgo every other thing to have these spiritual gifts.

Don’t let the devil deceive you. God’s gifts are what you need; ensure you get them. With them, your life will be all God wants it to be.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: Your spiritual gifts were not given for your own benefit but for the benefit of others.

PROPHETIC WORD: The power to do exploits for God shall fall upon you now.

TODAY’S HYMN – THE HOLY GHOST IS HERE

1. The Holy Ghost is here,
Where saints in prayer agree,
As Jesus’ parting Gift is near
Each pleading company.

2. Not far away is He,
To be by prayer brought near,
But here in present majesty,
As in His courts on high.

3. He dwells within our soul,
An ever welcome guest;
He reigns with absolute control,
As monarch in the breast.

4. Obedient to Thy will,
We wait to feel Thy power;
O Lord of life, our hopes fulfill,
And bless this hallowed hour.

PRAYER POINTS

MORNING
1. Father, deliver me from spiritual slumber, in the name of Jesus.

2. My dead spiritual gifts, be quickened, in the name of Jesus.

3. O Lord, fill me with new spiritual gifts, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Father, baptise me with spiritual intelligence, in the name of Jesus.

5. Father, deliver me from spiritual illiteracy, in the name of Jesus.

6. Powers that abort dreams and visions, die, in the name of Jesus.

7. Every root of pride in my life, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
