MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 21 September 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Promises To Those Who Exercise Faith (2)

Topic: Promises To Those Who Exercise Faith (2)

Fire Scripture: Hebrews 11:17-29

Memory verse:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. – John 5:24

Today’s Message:
Yesterday, we established the fact that those who exercise faith in God will enjoy special rewards heaven has promised to give them. We identified four of the promises or rewards: answer to prayer, sonship, power and spiritual rest. Today, we shall learn more of the promises and rewards God has for those who exercise their faith in Him.

The Bible assures that those who exercise faith in God will have spiritual inheritance. God has promised that every believer who is washed by the blood of the Lamb, saved and clothed in His righteousness will become heir of the kingdom and a joint-heir with Jesus Christ. The appropriation of this promise or reward is made possible by putting one’s faith to work. James 2:5 says, “Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?” I pray that you will possess and enjoy your spiritual inheritance, in Jesus’ name.

Also, those who exercise faith in God will receive spiritual foundation. Today, many people are going through all kinds of spiritual attacks and misfortune because they have faulty and evil foundations. With faith in God, the Master Builder, you will get a spiritual foundation that will make your life fruitful, victorious and glorious. In 1 Peter 2:6, the Bible says, “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.” This precious promise of God is for you.

Finally, those who exercise faith in God will be given spiritual assurance. 1 John 5:14 says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” The next verse affirms that the same assurance we have that God hears our petition guarantees that we receive those petitions as living proofs or testimonies.

Beloved, isn’t it wonderful to have the assurance or confidence that God will always hear and grant our petitions? The key to that assurance or confidence is exercising faith in His unfailing ability and acknowledging Him as the All-Sufficient God who has the power to do more than we can ever ask, think or imagine. Indeed, God rewards genuine faith in Him!

Henceforth, walk by faith and not by sight. Build on your most holy faith. Conquer territories; achieve the incredible and the impossible by faith. Remember that all things are possible to them that believe.

Motivational Quote:
Let God’s promises shine on your problems.

Prophetic Word:
The Lord will arise and have mercy on you today.

Today’s Hymn – HOLD TO GOD

1. Time is filled swift transition,
Naught of earth unmoved can stand,
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.

   Chorus
Hold to God’s unchanging hand!
Hold to God’s unchanging hand!
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.

2. Trust in Him who will not leave you,
Whatsoever years may bring,
If by earthly friends forsaken,
Still more closely to Him cling.

3. When your journey is completed,
If to God you have been true,
Fair and bright the home in glory,
Your enraptured soul will view.
