TOPIC: Manifesting Biblical Faith

FIRE SCRIPTURE
Phil. 4:4-7

MEMORY VERSE
Psalm 55:22“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

OUTLINE
Today, we are looking at how to manifest biblical faith. Today’s devotional will make the fire of faith to burn on the altar of your heart. Worry and faith are incompatible, because immediately worry comes in, faith jumps out. The beginning of worry is the end of faith. Elijah takes a challenge but he was not worried. He was confident that rain would fall.

I remember the story of one little girl. There was no rain in their city and the Christians decided to gather to pray that rain should fall. As they were going for the meeting, the girl said, “Daddy, let me follow you.” The daddy agreed to take her along with him. Later, the girl said, “Daddy, wait for me. Though I have taken my Bible, there is something that I have forgotten.” And, she ran inside and took an umbrella.

The daddy asked her: “What are you doing with the umbrella?” She said, “Daddy, we are going to pray that God should send rain, aren’t we?” The man laughed and said, “Well, it has not rained for many years.” They went and before the prayer meeting got half way, rain had started falling. It was only the little girl who had an umbrella.

Worry has nowhere to go and it gets nowhere. When I was in England many years ago, one doctor told me the story of one patient, who was always disturbing him with the same request every night, “Doctor, give me medicine or I will die. Give me medicine or I will die.” The patient was repeatedly pestering the doctor with the same scream, in spite of the fact he had been given all the medicines he was to take.
When he continued to cry, the doctor went to collect water and poured it inside the syringe and injected it into his body. Then, he said, “Thank you” and he slept. From that it obvious that it was not this sickness that wanted to kill the man, it was his worry.

Do not allow the challenges of life to trouble your heart. Take everything to God in prayer. With biblical faith, everything will be alright.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE
God will move you from where you are to where you are supposed to be.

PROPHETIC WORD
Whether your enemy wants to hear or they don’t want to hear, you shall make serious progress.

TODAY’S HYMN – Abide with me; fast falls the eventide

1. Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

2. Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future, as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.

3. Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart,
And all is darkened in the vale of tears,
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.

4. Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

Be still, my soul: begin the song of praiseV On earth, be leaving, to Thy Lord on high;
Acknowledge Him in all thy words and ways,
So shall He view thee with a well pleased eye.
Be still, my soul: the Sun of life divine
Through passing clouds shall but more brightly shine.
