Still on Hezekiah’s prayers, we need to note that the subject of prayers is not one that can be exhausted in a jiffy. We have started examining the prayer style of King Hezekiah. We have seen from his life that beyond corporate prayers, we need to practise being alone with God.

Another method of his prayer that could be engaged is teary prayers and supplication. There are warfare prayers, supplication, teary prayers, intercessions, prayer walks, prayer of thanksgiving etc. We need a combination of all these kinds of prayer to soar high in life.

Hezekiah’s prayers were more of supplication and teary prayers. The Bible says that he wept sore. There is a level of heart groaning that words alone won’t be enough to make requests known. At such point, the tears in the eyes say it all to God and He doesn’t overlook the tears of His saints. He keeps them in His bottle for remembrance (Psalms 56:8). He doesn’t ignore a supplication born from a faith-filled heart.

It is true that we are mostly used to warfare prayers but we have to explore other kinds of prayers. A lot of us do not intercede for others. We have not taken advantage of the prayers of thanksgiving. We need to be versatile in the place of prayer. Some of us have not learnt the Elijah’s and Hannah’s kinds of prayers. For some of us, our eyes are too dry in God’s presence. Even when some are praying for forgiveness from God. they mostly do so with dry eyes.

Teary prayers are powerful. The Bible says Hezekiah wept sore and supplicated to the end that God had to send Isaiah back to him with an answer of peace. “Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.”

In 1 Samuel 1: 10, Hannah also wept sore before God and she got her answer. This kind of weeping is born out of desperate faith. I pray that God will open the door of remembrance for us and wipe away all tears from our eyes, in Jesus’ name.

1. Table your request before God and pray like this: O God, arise and answer me now, in the name of Jesus.
2. Tear wiper, Jesus Christ, arise and wipe my tears away, in the name of Jesus.
3. Game Changer, Jesus Christ, arise and change the rule for my sake, in the name of Jesus.

4. I have known Jesus; I shall not know shame, in the name of Jesus.
5. O God, arise and open my book of remembrance, in the name of Jesus.
6. My supplication and petition, become testimonies, in the name of Jesus.
7. O God, arise today and give me an answer of peace, in the name of Jesus.
