TOPIC: Lessons from the Life of Hezekiah (2)

𝔽𝕀ℝ𝔼 𝕊ℂℝ𝕀ℙ𝕋𝕌ℝ𝔼: 2 Kings 18:3-7 (NKJV)

3 And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father David had done.
4 He removed the high places and broke the sacred pillars, cut down the wooden image and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made; for until those days the children of Israel burned incense to it, and called it Nehushtan.
5 He trusted in the Lord God of Israel, so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor who were before him.

6 For he held fast to the Lord; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses.
7 The Lord was with him; he prospered wherever he went. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 4TH APRIL 2024 MESSAGE

King Hezekiah served God with the whole of his heart, mind and soul. Someone has rightly said that if you want to serve God, serve Him well and if you have chosen to serve the devil, serve him well but do not try to stay on the fence as that would be too tragic. He cleaved unto the God of David.

He did that which was right in his sight. He broke down wicked altars that were being worshipped against the living God. He worked for God. He stopped all pagan worship in the land and brought the men of his time back to the living God. He enforced the will of God on earth and he dared to differ from other kings in his time. He rebelled against the king of Assyria (God’s enemy).

You cannot claim to love God and love His enemy at the same time, you will have to rebel against one. He served God to the extent that the Scripture said that “He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.”.

Beloved, how will you be rated in your devotion to God and the things that pertain to His kingdom? The Bible said of Enoch that he so much walked with God that God found him not to be worthy of death. “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” These men gave their all to God.

How much of your life have you given to God? Probably you have given him one room out of the many rooms of your life? You might have confined God to the corner of your life while you are in charge of the other aspects. Listen to me, to get God to pour His life to you, you have to hand over your entire life to Him without holding anything back.

If you are going to give anything to God, let it be only your best and nothing less. If you want to see God in everything, then be ready to hand over everything to Him. It could be painful and not easy but that is the way to go -the way of the cross. My question to you this morning is that can God trust you? Think about it!

ℙℝ𝔸𝕐𝔼ℝ ℙ𝕆𝕀ℕ𝕋𝕊:
𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆
1. Go on your knees and rededicate your devotion to God this morning.
2. Sing this song, I give myself away, so you can use me.
3. My Father, I surrender my all to You. Take my life and make it Yours, in the name of Jesus.

𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆
4. Wicked altars erected by my forefathers, speaking against me, I pull you down, die and speak no more, in the name of Jesus.
5. Ancient serpent of my ancestry demanding for my worship, be electrocuted by fire, in the name of Jesus.
6. Jealousy of the Most High God, defend my portion, in the name of Jesus.
7. My life, become a good reference point and obtain a good report through faith, in the name of Jesus.
