24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
MFM Daily Devotional 29 January 2026 MESSAGE
Today, we are looking at other wealth-building strategies for Christians. Beloved, you must avoid excessive love of money. While the Bible does not teach that money itself is evil, it cautions us against the love of money and the pursuit of wealth at all costs. Christians should avoid placing their trust in money, which can easily become an idol. That is the real danger. 1 Timothy 6:10 tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil because it drives some people to do unimaginable things just to get money, and they end up in a lot of trouble. When wealth becomes the primary focus of life, it can lead to spiritual destruction. Christians should seek contentment in Christ, regardless of their financial situation.
Another important strategy you should use to make and grow or build wealth is to diversify your investments. Diversification helps every investor reduce risk. Even the Bible encourages us to spread out our resources to minimise risk is echoed in various parts of the Bible (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2, Proverbs 27:23-24). Christians can reduce the risks associated with relying on one source of income or one investment strategy by diversifying.
Finally, I enjoin you to trust in God’s provision and timing. Wealth-building should be done trusting and acknowledging that God is the great provider and the one who gives us the power to make wealth. There will be seasons of abundance and times of scarcity, but in all situations, God is faithful (Philippians 4:19). Christians should trust that God will provide for their needs as they seek His will in their finances. By prioritising God, working hard, living within one’s means, saving and investing wisely, practising generosity, avoiding the love of money, diversifying investments, and trusting in God’s provision, we can build wealth that honours God and serves others. In all things. The goal is to remain faithful to God, who is the ultimate source of wealth and security.
